A Message to Our Patients
With rapid developments regarding Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic concerns and efforts to limit the potential effects on our medical community, we are adjusting our practice to accommodate these efforts. This includes following CDC, KDHE recommendations as this process evolves in our community. Changes include limiting patient, staff and physician exposure to persons of “high risk”. We will utilize the CORONAVIRUS PATIENT SCREENING questionnaire to assess these risks. (Click here to open and print the questionnaire.)
To assist in this endeavor, we will implement pre-office screening to limit these risks. Other measures designed to conserve community health resources or potential progression of this pandemic includes delineation elective and urgent surgeries. Stratification of surgical priority will be required and achieved with physician and patient agreement. This will serve to preserve medical supplies, medical and ICU beds and limit exposure of patients, hospital staffs, and physicians. We appreciate your understanding of these important changes. We are actively collaborating with Ascension Via Christi Hospital, Manhattan Surgical Hospital and surrounding community hospitals to continue to provide best care for our community and region. Please understand that recommendations will continue to evolve based on best practices for community health care and concerns in this critical matter.
Please read this Letter to the Manhattan Community on behalf of the entire medical community in Manhattan.
